Box office collections of Simran for the weekend are out. Despite having lackluster reviews, the movie has been able to cross Rs. 10 crores at box office with ease. “If only there was more quotient of marketing or the pre-release buzz, the numbers would have looked a little different”, all Kangana Ranaut fans are defending the low collections with this response.
Kangana Ranaut has been the talk of town for quite some time now. Couple of weeks ago when I read the news of Kangana making allegations on Hrithik one morning, I thought I woke up in past. I quickly checked the dates on the newspaper to verify that this is not last year’s. After fighting the battles with Karan Johar over nepotism, she had laid low only to dig the skeletons from past. From Hrithik Roshan to Aditya Pancholi, the woman wanted to unearth everything that, everyone will agree, is history!
As it turns out, one more time, the controversy has helped a star to promote her upcoming movie. People say there wasn’t enough pre-release buzz, but our “Simran” was ruling all sorts of media. Be it press, social networks or TV, Kangana was everywhere. The BO numbers, despite of average reviews, definitely support marketing strategy used by Kangana Ranaut. Do you agree?
